In this busy life, getting free time is a boon and we should utilize this time productively. You can settle your house, learn some skills, visit interesting places, read a book, start a blog, or watch a movie. In my opinion, I think that it will be more interesting and worthwhile if you can spend time helping others or doing well for society. You can volunteer for an NGO, visit orphanages and donate to charity to help out at old age homes. I would like to share my experience of how I am spending my free time. I have been working with an NGO for 3 years and it has been a good journey so far. I started volunteering during my college days as I wished to spend my free time on something positive that would not only help me but others around me as well. The volunteering experience really impacted me, so even while working a full-time job I make sure I take some out to volunteer at different NGOs. It gives me a sense of happiness and relaxation as I am doing something for the development of my country. During my college days, I read many articles on hunger and malnutrition in our country, which is why I chose to volunteer at a food NGO. In a food NGO, the main role of a volunteer is in the distribution of food. I have also been involved with helping staff in the kitchen and packing the food items. The NGO I have been working is providing food to schools under a mid-day meal programme. This allows me to spend time with children and have fun with them. We are also giving food to street people, orphanages and shelter homes. The happy faces of the people who receive food inspire us to do more towards the cause of hunger and malnutrition. From my experience, volunteering for an NGO is much more than just spending free time. It’s an opportunity to meet people from different backgrounds and work for the future of our country.
